We discuss the story represented in her book <em>Mr. Humble and Dr. Butcher: A Monkey&#8217;s Head, the Pope&#8217;s Neuroscientist, and the Quest to Transplant the Soul<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Brandy Schillace is a historian of medicine and the critically acclaimed author of <em>Death&#8217;s Summers Coat<\/em>, <em>Clockwork Futures<\/em>,\u00a0and most recently <em>Mr. Humble and Dr. Butcher,<\/em>\u00a0described by the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>\u00a0as a \u201cmacabre delight.\u201d Her books have been reviewed in\u00a0<em>Science Magazine<\/em>,\u00a0the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>,\u00a0the\u00a0<em>Boston Globe<\/em>,\u00a0<em>New Yorker<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Washington Post<\/em>, the <em>Wall Street Journal\u00a0<\/em>and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Schillace is host of the Peculiar Book Club, a livestream community of authors and readers, and has appeared on Travel Channel\u2019s\u00a0<em>Mysteries at the Museum,<\/em>\u00a0 NPR\u2019s<em>\u00a0Here and Now,\u00a0<\/em>and FOX\u2019s<em>\u00a0American Built<\/em>. Dr. Schillace is a 2018 winner of the\u00a0Arthur P.
