He is a Professor of Cognitive Science and Psychology at Occidental College, and chair of its Psychology department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His research explores both the acquisition of domain-specific concepts and the development of domain-general inference strategies. His work has appeared in such journals as\u00a0<em>Cognition<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Cognitive Psychology<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Cognitive Science<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Child Development<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Journal of Educational Psychology<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Psychological Science<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Psychological Review<\/em>, and he is the recipient of an Early Career Development Award from the National Science Foundation and an Understanding Human Cognition Scholar Award from the James S. McDonnell Foundation.
